Alaina's Missing Teeth

Alaina was blessed with such a sweet helpful little brother, so he thought he would help get her front teeth out. :-) They were jumping on the trampoline and he landed on her face.
The first one came out right away and the second one hung on for a little bit.
What a trooper. She went through quite a lot that night. The tooth fairy left a bonus. ;-)

Wildlife World Zoo with Grandma Dorny

We took Grandma Dorny to the zoo while she was here recovering from surgery. She had a blast and the kids loved showing her all of the animals.

Pushing Grandma around. Looked fun to Dawson so he hopped on.
She did NOT want to touch the stingrays. Ha ha

Alaina's clever note

Here is a note that I found in the office. I think my clever little girl thought that she was going to get Aislyn in trouble for this. Here are my clues to the mystery of whether Aislyn wrote this note or not. First, Aislyn writes her own name very differently. The s is always backwards like a z. Second, she does not know how to write any other words like DID, THIS, AND. Third, I saw Alaina just the other day writing the word stupid just like this. Kindergarten has taught her how to sound out the word. Don't you just love it! I also love when you see writing on the walls and they always write their own name on the wall because that is what they are learning at that age. I'm no Sherlock Holmes, but I think I got this one!

The Training Wheels Are Off

My big girl Aislyn officially rides without training wheels. We are so proud of her.

The whole gang together

Alaina's Art Drawing

Alaina came home from school with this. She drew it in Art class and I was so impressed with my little girl that I had to post it. She said this is a picture of her watching Spongebob. The antenna is pretty funny because I didnt think she has ever seen a TV with an antenna.

The things that kids say.......

I have been getting a lot of hilarious feedback from Aislyn lately and wanted to share a few of them with you. Some of you may read this and think that she is the most sassy and sarcastic girl ever, but if you really know her I think that you too will feel like she is just really questioning our intelligence. Here are a few examples of this.

Setting: I had my niece spend the night and the three of them were in the room going to bed. I had them all in seperate beds to prevent too much goofing off, but 45 minutes later they were still laughing and making noise. I walked in to see Emma climbing up the bunkbeds and Alaina and Aislyn laughing and encouraging.

Me: Umm excuse me but this does not look like 3 little girls going to bed!

Aislyn: Well mom, why would you put 3 little girls in a room by themselves?

Me: Umm umm umm.....OH JUST GO TO BED AND BE QUIET!

Setting: Aislyn had her preschool coming to our house to see the animals for a field trip. I was telling her to hurry and find her pants so that she could be ready when they get here. She looked in my room, her room and everywhere in between. There was a particular pair that she wanted and we couldnt find it anywhere. Well, after a while I went into her room to find her still standing in her shirt and panties.

Me: Well, did you find your pants?

Aislyn: (looks down at her panties and then up at me) Does it look like I found them?

Me: Umm umm umm....no, JUST FIND SOMETHING ELSE TO WEAR!

Setting: My sister in law Jennifer's mom had just passed away and Brian and I had been talking about it with each other all week. Well, Jen had called for me earlier and Brian took a message. I had just sat down to dinner after returning her phone call.

Brian: Did you call Jen back?

Me: Yeah, I just got off the phone with her.

Brian: Was everything ok? She sounded sad on the phone earlier.

Aislyn: Well, her mom did just die! I think shes gonna be sad for a while.

Brian: (No response)

Me: (No response)

Of course there are the occasional comments that she makes from observing things happening around her. Like this one for example.....

Setting: The girls and I had run into a bathroom at a restaurant and were all taking turns in the same stall. I was wearing a pair of jeans that sadly are a little on the tight side, so of course when I zipped up I sucked in the gut and buttoned them. Aislyn was apparently watching this and had something to say.

Aislyn: Mom, remember when me and Alaina and Dawson were really little in your tummy and we stretched it out really far like this. (Hands stretched out from her stomach)

Me: Yeah

Aislyn: Yeah and now it doesnt fit into your pants.

Me: Tears.....crying....sobbing.....j/k The truth is brutal!

The Hair Disaster Update!

I decided to go ahead and post the results of the hair repair. My friend Aubrey did a great job repairing her hair and Dawsons barber "Dad" did a great job with the clippers. The bangs are going to take a while to grow out but Dawson is going to recover much sooner with his buzz. We now like to call Aislyn "Scout" from To Kill a Mockingbird.

Aislyn and Scissors!!!!!!

Well, Aislyn has moved on from cutting Barbies' hair to cutting her own, her brothers, his pajamas, his pillows, etc. Tonight Aislyn got a hold of some scissors and had quite a time with them. I can't believe how quickly major destruction can happen when a 4 year old has a pair of scissors. I checked on them and saw how good they were playing, so I decided to go get some blogging done. Well, the next thing I know I went to check on them and they were laughing and playing, but outside of the door I saw a little lock of hair. VERY BAD SIGN!
Here she is in the corner shortly after the incident. She chopped her bangs and added a few layers of her own. Quite the aspiring hairdresser!
Dawson was just a sweet innocent bystander that got in the way. We buzzed his head and you can still see the chops in his hair.
And apparently Aislyn thought he would be more comfortable in shorts and short sleeves. These are the cute pajamas that Grandma got him for Christmas. Sorry Grandma :-(
Even the pillows werent safe!
A word of advice.....KEEP YOUR SCISSORS UNDER LOCK AND KEY!

Daddy-Daughter Dance

Alaina's school had a daddy-daughter dance and she has been very excited to go. It was an official date. They had dinner and went dancing together. She said that she had a lot of fun and her and dad really got jiggy with it on the dance floor. (My words, not hers) :-) She is growing up so fast. I loved seeing her get so excited to go on a date with dad. She has such a wonderful daddy and he was very excited to take her.
Posing at the dance!
